Center for Theatre Arts offers summer dance classes, and theatre camps for students. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned performer, we have a class designed for you.
Students will be initially placed at a level based on age and academic grade. Minimum class size is 6
DANCE TUITION FOR SUMMER DANCE CLASSES
$70 for a 1 hour class
$85 for a 1-1/2 hour class
$100 for Iron Street Dancers 2 hour class
15% discount when enrolled in 3 or more classes.
TUITION FOR SUMMER THEATRE CAMPS
$150 for 4 DAY CAMPS (if additional siblings are enrolled in the same camp cost for each sibling is $75)
$200 for 5 DAY CAMPS (if additional siblings are enrolled in the same camp cost for each sibling is $100)
10% discount when enrolled in more than one camp.
For students of all skill levels, grades K-5. All of our 9am-4pm day camps provide instruction in all three disciplines. Bring your own lunch, snacks and art supplies are provided. Camps culminate with a free, informal performance for family and friends at 4pm. Our camps are tax deductible with the Dependent Child Care Credit.

ENROLLMENT BEGINS TUESDAY, MAY 2
4:00 – 5:00 | Ballet/Tap | 3-4 years (Must be potty trained!)
A delightful and fun introduction to dance and tap using age appropriate music, different tempos of music, and props. Little dancers will explore dance space, create characters, and learn exercises suitable for their bodies.
5:00 – 6:00 | Ballet/Tap/Jazz | 5-6 years
Students will work with pre-ballet class structure learning dance vocabulary while moving to fun Broadway-style songs. Tap class will work with different rhythms and tempos, improving musicality and coordination. Jazz class will learn small sections of basic choreography, learning to put steps together.
5:00-7:00 | Iron Street Dance Company
This is the performing dance company by audition only.
7:00-8:00 | High School/Adult Jazz
This jazz class is designed for beginning to intermediate dancers who want to improve coordination flexibility and dance skill. Class consists of warm up, stretch, and short combinations of dance across the floor and at center.
4:30 – 6:00 | Ballet/Tap/Jazz | 1st & 2nd grades
Students will focus on tempos and movement using Broadway music and popular tunes improving their technique while enjoying age-appropriate moves.
4:30 – 6:00 | Jazz/Tap | 5th & 6th grades
Class will focus on improving technique in jazz (1 hour) and tap (30 min.)
5:30 – 7:00 | Ballet/Tap/Jazz | 3rd & 4th grades
Students will focus on movement, technique, and progressions using a variety of music tempos and age appropriate songs.
6:00 – 7:00 | Jazz Technique – Turns and Leaps | 13 years & up
An intense jazz-based class with the focus on improving technique, turns, and leaps. This is NOT a beginning class. Students must have dance experience and have approval of instructor.
6:00 – 7:00 | Ballet I | 5th – 8th grades
This is the ballet class that moves at a pace the student can enjoy as they build their vocabulary, improve balance, improve the turn out, improve flexibility, and strength through barre, center and progressions.
7:00 – 8:00 | Adult Tap | Beginner – Intermediate
This is a fun tap dance class for the adult who is a beginner and/or has some tap dance experience. Learn with other adults who have a wonderful time while reaping the health benefits of tap dancing.
3:30 – 4:30 | Contemporary | 8th grade+
This is a technique-based class for intermediate-advanced dancers. Previous ballet and/or contemporary experience required or instructor permission.
5:00 – 6:00 | Tap Intermediate/Advanced | 7th grade & up
Student must have previous tap experience beyond beginning level and teacher permission to enroll in this class.
6:00 – 7:30 | Intermediate/Advanced Ballet | 8th grade & up
Students must have studied ballet and have knowledge of ballet vocabulary. Enrollment in this class must have permission from the
4:30-5:30 | Conditioning
This is the perfect conditioning class that includes an aggressive warm-up with stretching and exercises catered toward improving the dancer’s physical condition.
7:00 – 8:00 | Adult Ballet | Beginner – Intermediate
This is an opportunity for the adult dancer to learn ballet basics or to advance their technique. This class is designed for the adult who is a beginner and/or has some previous dance experience and wants to improve their technique.

This class is designed for the experienced ballet dancer who is physically ready for pointe. Students minimum age of 11, with teacher permission only may enroll in this class that will use proper technique and strengthening to prepare and dance en pointe.
IRON STREET DANCE COMPAN
By Audition Only
The Center for Theatre Arts’ select performing dance company will hold auditions on Monday, May 8th at 5:30 PM. Auditionees must be finishing 8th grade or older (some exceptions by permission only) and have technical dance training. Dancers must wear appropriate dance attire and be prepared to go through a class and learn dance combinations in a variety of styles. This is an open audition for all dancers, male and female, regardless of where they’ve had previous training. Saturday, June 17 – 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
A “men only” dance class taught by OCU Dance major and former Iron Street Dancer, Jonathan Flores. In this workshop Jonathan will share techniques and styles appropriate for the male dancer.
